Crash.

Updated: Apr 11, 2019

It has been 8 months since my life changed… I was hit at 50 mph by a girl texting and driving. (below is the car that hit me) I ended up in the hospital by no fault of my own…on that day I lost my freedom, breath & control of my body.

Destroyed car after accident that injured yoga instructor that runs this website.
The car crash the led me to yoga.

My neck was destroyed, the left side of my body took the blunt force and my right side has been compensating ever since. With one side of my chest depressed in and a hip askew, finding a full breath was next to impossible. I couldn't lift my arm up or properly bend it, much less turn my head.

The painful realization that no matter how prepared you feel, life has its own plans for you.

Yoga saved my life, every inhale, every exhale, every movement, though small, was a victory. It is still a fight for me...a fight to breathe…a fight for the fluidity of motion again, but yoga gives me the strength to win that fight and persevere every day. For every movement I regain, I am more myself than I ever was before the accident.

The body achieves what the mind believes…I am free, I am whole and I will be healed. The ultimate blessing is we can be anyone we want to be in this life.

Who are you going to be? What can you let go, that doesn't serve you? What things are you still telling yourself that you can't do?

Allow me to whisper a secret to you, that you already know. You are pure love. You already possess everything you need to achieve your dreams in this world…and it’s inside of you right now.

I am free, I am whole and I will be healed. The ultimate blessing is we can be anyone we want to be in this life.

We all have a journey before us, and for many that journey starts with recovery, acceptance, and healing. Let's walk it together. Namaste
